Promoting diversity in birding, while fundraising to protect the rights of women/trans folx, members of the LGBTQ+ community, people of colour and those in underserved and underfunded communities.
We seek to be an intergenerational club that explores birding areas within our city, and one that also discusses inclusivity, accessibility and strategizes how to make Toronto birding a welcoming space.
The Toronto Chapter was started in 2019. The original Feminist Bird Club was started by Molly Adams in NYC.
We like to meet up every 1 - 2 months for in-person birding events, stay up to date with our planned future outings here (also advertised on Instagram and Facebook)
Upcoming 2023 events:
June 4 - Thompson Memorial Park (Scarborough Environmental Association)
June 10 - Hanlan’s Point Beach Clean Up (Birds Canada)
June 13 - Evergreen Brick Works (Bikechain)
Every 2 months let’s get together and talk birdy. Check out our list of non-fiction, fiction, & poetry all about birds, nature, environmentalism, and social justice.
